23 year old Peggy Ashley Vinson was last seen in Scottsville, Kentucky on July 29, 2000. She disappeared after getting into a white truck in the parking lot of the A.O. Smith plant.

Background

Peggy Sue Ashley Vinson was born on March 17, 1977. She is the mother of three young children, the two eldest of which were living with their respective fathers at the time.

Hours before her disappearance, Peggy finished her work shift at Federal Mogul in Scottsville, Kentucky.

She then got into an argument with her boyfriend where she was allegedly assaulted with a deadly weapon, and drove to the Sheriff’s Department to make a report.

She left the sheriff’s department around 1:30 am, about a half hour before she was last seen alive.

Disappearance

Around 2:00 am on July 29, 2000, Peggy Ashley Vinson pulled into the parking lot of the A.O. Smith electrical motor plant in Scottsville, Kentucky. She was followed closely by another car.

At 2:07 am, Peggy was last seen on surveillance footage on the parking lot, exiting her vehicle and getting into a white truck with Calvin Smith. Peggy hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

Peggy’s babysitter reported her missing two days later after she failed to return home.

Investigation

Calvin Smith claims he drove Peggy to a pay phone before taking her back to her car on the night she disappeared, however phone records show no calls were made, nor does the surveillance footage from the parking lot show them returning.

There has been no activity on her bank account since she went missing, and she hasn’t made any contact with friends or family.

Peggy’s boyfriend was interviewed, and is not considered a suspect in her disappearance as he has a solid alibi for the time she disappeared.

In 2019 police named Calvin Smith a person of interest in Peggy’s disappearance, which led to his barn in Munfordville, Kentucky being searched.

To date no arrests have been made in connection with her case.

The location of Peggy Ashley Vinson, as well as the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, remains unknown.

Foul play is suspected, though no arrests have been made. Her case is classified as endangered missing and remains unsolved.

Appearance

White female born on March 17, 1977. Peggy has blonde hair, blue eyes, stands 5’9 tall, and weighs 120 pounds.

She has several tattoos; barbed wire with the intials “JJ” on her right arm, a horse head on her left arm, and a horse on the right side of her lower back.

Clothing & Accessories:
Peggy was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and black sneakers. Her belly button is pierced.
