Jerome Lawrence and Sindrell Oliver are cousins who live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, Jerome was dropped off at Lehigh and 5th to catch the SEPTA bus. He rode the bus to the 5400 block of North 5th Street, where he met up with Sindrell. Jerome wanted to confront a man about a debt. Sindrell came to support his cousin.
25-year-old Jerome and 46-year-old Sindrell walked into a tax preparation shop at 5416 North 5th Street in the Olney section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The men never walked out.
“We have text messages and proof regarding them, Sindrell and Jerome meeting up together to go to the income tax place,” said their aunt, Yvonne Lawrence.
Authorities found surveillance cameras in the area that caught the arrival of Jerome and Sindrell on video.
“You see Jerome and Sindrell go inside of there, and you see the guy close the gate. But now you see a bunch of other guys just standing outside of the store. So, we don’t know what happened to them,” Yvonne said.
No one has seen or heard from Jerome or Sindrell since. Both men’s cell phones are turned off.
“A couple store owners on their block said they do remember seeing them. A lot of people remember seeing them,” said Jerome’s mother, Natalie Lawrence.
According to their family members, the man who owned the business handled the filing of Jerome and his girlfriend’s unemployment benefits. Jerome sent text messages to his girlfriend, proving he made it to the business on North 5th Street. The business is closed, and the man has been uncooperative with authorities.
“I just know they did something to them. I know without knowing,” Natalie said
Jerome Lawrence is 5’10” and weighed 175 pounds when he disappeared.
