24 year old Kentra Battelo was last seen in Enid, Oklahoma on July 7, 2022. She was last seen at a residence in the 1400 block of West Randolph, before reportedly taking off.

Background

Kendra Nicole Battelo was born on August 24, 1997. She has struggled with mental health and substance abuse issues in the past, according to her family. Her loved ones say it’s unusual for her to be out of contact with them for so long.

Disappearance

Kendra Battelo was last seen in Enid, Oklahoma on (or about) July 7, 2022. She was staying at a residence in the 1400 block of West Randolph, and allegedly left at some point.

She last spoke with her mother around midnight on July 7, and hasn’t been heard from since.

Kendra’s family reported her missing to the Enid Police Department on July 12, 2022, after they couldn’t contact her.

Investigation

After she disappeared, calls to Kendra’s cell started going straight to voicemail. She has not been active on social media or in contact with her loved ones, which her family says is unusual.

Kendra Battelo was with her boyfriend, 27 year old Colby Sheppard, when she disappeared. There was a pending domestic violence case against him, which was filed by Kendra in June of 2022.

Court documents show that in June 2022 an Enid Police officer was dispatched to a hotel in Enid. When they arrived, Battelo advised them Sheppard had assaulted her, with Battelo showing the officer marks and bruises she had on her body.

The domestic violence case was dismissed in February 2023, since Kendra was not available to testify.

There was a possible sighting of Kendra on July 20, 2022, when someone matching her description knocked on a resident’s door in Pawnee (65 miles east of Enid) and asked for a glass of water. The woman who answered the door reported the encounter to the police the following day after she learned that Kendra was missing. 

Kendra’s Boyfriend, Colby Sheppard, Found Deceased

On August 27, 2024, police received a tip that led them to search a storm shelter behind an abandoned home on North 12th Street in Enid. That search ultimately led to the discovery of a body, which was later identified as being Colby Sheppard.

Colby Sheppard was last seen at a Pizza Hut in Enid on December 27, 2023, and was reported missing by his family on January 4, 2024.

“Evidence suggests Mr. Sheppard was killed in retaliation for his rumored involvement in Kendra Battelo’s disappearance in 2022, though detectives have not found any evidence to support the allegation,” The Enid Police Department said in a press release.

45 year old Victor Battelo, 55 year old Charles Jordan, 35 year old Devin Harris, and Heaven Jones were arrested and charged with first degree murder in Sheppard’s case.

Investigators believe Battelo was the mastermind behind the plot because, believing Sheppard had something to do with the disappearance of his niece, Kendra.

The investigation into both Sheppard’s murder and Battelo’s disappearance are ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Whereabouts

The location of Kendra Battelo, as well as the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, remains unknown. Her case is classified as endangered missing and remains unsolved.

Appearance

Biracial female (Black, Hispanic, Native American) born on August 24, 1997. Kendra has black hair, brown eyes, stands 5’7 tall, and weighs 115-130 pounds.

She is enrolled with The Muscogee (Creek) Nation. At the time of her disappearance her hair was short, but she often wore wigs of different colors and styles.
