Heather Rachelle Elvis was born June 30, 1993, and grew up just outside of the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area.
In 2013, Heather was now 20-years old, living in her own apartment in Carolina Forest, and was working as a server at the Tilted Kilt.
Heather was fun-loving, and a very hard worker. Her mom has said that despite Heather’s young age, she had a great work ethic from early on and enjoyed her job at the Tilted Kilt.
Heather’s life would change drastically when she met Sidney Moorer, a man who was doing some maintenance work at the restaurant. Despite the fact that Sidney was 18 years older than Heather- and married- the two began having an affair.
When Sidney’s wife found out, she began to harass and threaten Heather, mostly via text messages and very public social media posts.
On the night of December 17, 2013, Heather, trying to get over her relationship with Sidney, went out on a date with another guy she had recently met. He brought her home just after 1:00 a.m.
At some point during the night, Sidney and Heather connected on the phone. Heather left her apartment just after 3:00 a.m.
Her car was found abandoned the next day at Peachtree Boat Landing.
Through cell phone records, and surveillance footage (home footage and business footage), police believe that Heather was lured there by Sidney and Tammy, and something happened from there, likely she was kidnapped and taken somewhere else.
They had enough evidence to take it to court. After first experiencing a mistrial, Sidney and Tammy would then go on to be sentenced to 30 years in prison for various crimes- including obstruction and kidnapping.
To this day, Heather Elvis has not been found.
