A Nashville teacher who was last seen nearly three weeks ago has been found dead, authorities announced Thursday.
Gerardo Behori, 64, was last seen on Nov. 15 in the area of Brick Church Pike, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).
A Silver Alert was issued for the 64-year-old on Nov. 22.
The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) added that Behori was last seen at Republic High School, which was his place of employment, and his phone was last detected in the Opryland area but had been turned off.
Nexstar affiliate WKRN spoke with Behori’s children on Nov. 27.
According to the kids, their dad left the high school on Nov. 15 in a Lyft, adding that it was unlike him not to have contact with anyone in the family, friends, or girlfriend.
The TBI announced on Thursday, Dec. 5 that the 64-year-old was found dead in Nashville, saying, “Our thoughts are with those who knew and loved him.”
According to MNPD, Behori was found lying in the backseat of a vehicle where he had apparently been living, adding that there were no signs of trauma.
The vehicle was found parked on Music Valley Drive.
The Medical Examiner will determine his cause of death, officials said.
