34-year-old Timothy Braddy was last seen in Brooksville, Florida on December 10, 2022. He disappeared after leaving his car on the side of the road after it ran out of gas in the early morning hours.
Background
Timothy James Braddy was born on December 27, 1987, to parents Terry and Kimberly Braddy. He is the middle of three siblings. He is the father of six children, aged 2 to 17.
At the time of his disappearance, Braddy was living in Grants Pass, Oregon with his fiancée and her daughter. He worked in construction as a horizontal driller.
Disappearance
Timothy Braddy left his home in Oregon on December 3, 2022 and made the cross-country trip to Florida for a construction job opportunity in Lakeland.
On December 5, 2022, Braddy visited his parents in Bonifay, Florida, and told his mother that he was excited to be closer to them and his children who live in the Panhandle.
On December 9, 2022, Braddy headed out to the onboarding of his new job where he was supposed to fill out paperwork before starting work in Lakeland. When his mother texted him about the job he responded ‘My GPS, my GPS.’ She thought that “maybe he just hadn’t gotten his bearings” from the cross country trip.
At 2:30 am on December 10, 2022, Braddy spoke over the phone with his fiancée back in Oregon. He told her his truck ran out of gas, and that he was walking and didn’t know where he was.
Braddy was later heard making several irrational statements and was running into the woods before communication was lost. Timothy Braddy hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
On December 11, 2022, his fiancée filed a missing person’s report with the Grants Pass Police Department in Oregon when she couldn’t contact him.
Investigation
On December 10, 2022, Braddy was reportedly last seen by residents near the area of West Ponce De Leon Boulevard and Highway 98 in Citrus County, Florida.
On December 14, 2022, Braddy’s vehicle, a red Dodge pickup truck with Oregon license plates, was found abandoned on Commercial Way near Weeki Wachee High School in Brooksville, Florida, about 14 minutes away from where he was last sighted.
According to his family, Braddy had struggled with drug use in the past, but had been clean for several months. Authorities believe that Braddy possibly relapsed and became paranoid after leaving his vehicle behind.
A private search team called “The Essentials” combed over 100 miles of woods in the area where Timothy disappeared.
About three weeks after he went missing, they located several items they believe belonged to Timothy, including a pack of cigarettes an construction vest. The items were found near near Homosassa, several miles from where his truck was found abandoned.
Whereabouts
Police found no evidence for foul play in Timothy Braddy’s disappearance. The circumstances of Timothy’s disappearance remain unclear and his case is currently classified as missing.
