On Valentine’s Day 2019, Larry McClure and his daughters, Amanda McClure and Anna Choudary, brutally mu*rdered Amanda’s boyfriend. One month later, the Kentucky man married Amanda in a Virginia wedding ceremony.

He is 55 years old and a registered sex offender. McClure and his daughters were each charged with first-degree mur*der in the death of 38-year-old John McGuire. The judge gave Larry a life sentence in prison and gave Anna and Amanda each 40 years.

Larry Meets His Daughters Again
Before the event, Larry and the girls were not getting along. In 1998, Larry was found guilty of first-degree s*exual assault for the ab*use of a family member younger than 12 years old. Amanda was 9 years old and Anna was 10 years old when he went to prison. He was locked up for 17 and a half years before he was released.
Larry lived in West Virginia, Amanda and McGuire lived in Indiana, and Choudhary lived in North Carolina. Lisa and Larry drove to Indiana about 10 days before the mur*der to pick up Amanda and her boyfriend. They all got “dope sick” and drove to Larry’s house in the country in Skygusty, WV.
A Plan to K*ill
About a week after the reunion, Amanda told Larry she wanted to ki*ll McGuire. They began planning the mu*rder.

Amanda told her husband on February 14, 2019, that they were tying him up as a trust game. It was okay with him. The group then hit him in the head with a bottle of wine that he bought for the holiday with his girlfriend. They gave McGuire a methamphetamine injection and tortured him in different ways for two days. After ki*lling the man, they buried him in the backyard. There was se*x between Larry and Amanda as soon as they ki*lled McGuire.
After six days, they dug up his body and moved it to a side yard.

When police found McGuire’s decomposing remains, a black garbage bag was tied around his head. Anna strangled him; Larry held him; and Amanda wrapped the garbage bag around his head, according to larry’s confession letter written to the court several days before the trial began.
Father, Daughter Marry
They drove across state lines on March 11 to file for marriage, but Amanda’s father was listed as someone else.
The m*urder was found out while McClure was in jail in October 2019 on a charge that had nothing to do with the mur*der. He asked to talk to a detective. After that, he admitted to k*illing McGuire and blamed Amanda for the crime, saying she spent his Social Security checks after he died.
McGuire was reported missing in June 2019 by the mother of three of his children. Angela Erickson told police that McGuire left in February on a road trip with Amanda McClure and she had not seen or heard from him since.
McGuire’s Mother Addresses the Court
During Amanda McClure’s sentencing hearing, McGuire’s mother talked about the reason, saying she wanted to know “why (McClure) thought she could be God and take (her) kid.” She said McClure stole her son’s checks after he died, but she wasn’t sure if that was really the reason.

Amanda McClure then spoke.
“Mrs. Smith, the only answer I can give you as to why things happened is John was with me,” she said, according to the newspaper. “My dad didn’t want anyone else near me. John told Larry that he loved me and we were going to get married.
“I wish I could bring John back. He was a good man.”
