A missing 2-year-old boy in Las Vegas was found de*ad inside a dumpster, according to authorities.
Officers responded around 8:25 p.m. regarding a report of a missing two-year-old.
When police arrived, they immediately began searching for the child. Hours later, the missing two-year-old, identified as Jacoby Robinson Jr. was located inside a garbage dumpster.
Jacoby was pronounced de*ad at the scene.
Detectives determined that the toddler’s mother, 23-year-old Diaja Smith, was the suspect in the case.
Smith was arrested and will be booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder and other felony charges.
Kelvyn Barnett lives in the same area where the toddler was found. He said he saw Smith searching for Jacoby last night, before her arrest.
“I saw a lady sitting there with her two other kids, really hysterical saying ‘somebody took my kid, somebody took my kid,’” Barnett said. “To find out that she was the one that did this is the most shocking aspect of it all.”
