Around 6:34 a.m, Garcia was captured on surveillance video leaving her residence in her vehicle, a bright red-wrapped Honda Accord. Shortly after, she sent her sister a text message telling her that she was on her way to work
Arelie Garcia never made it to work that morning and hasn’t been heard from since.
Her family filed a missing person’s report with the Salinas Police Department after they received a call from her manager, alerting them that she never showed up.
Investigation
Garcia’s phone and bank account have had no activity since she disappeared.
On the evening she went missing, two of her sisters used the Find My iPhone app and discovered that Arelie‘s cell phone last pinged to an area in Big Sur, about an hour’s drive from Salinas.
Her vehicle was found parked on the side of the road on Highway 1, near the Little Sur River in Big Sur. Her cell phone and wallet were found inside. The car was found locked with the keys in the ignition, and there were no obvious signs of foul play.
Authorities stated that Garcia left her residence alone that morning and there was no indication that someone approached her, nor that her vehicle was followed. She left home at 6:34 am and had been expected at arrive at work around 7:00 am.
Whereabouts
Police found no evidence of foul play in Arelie Garcia’s disappearance. A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Arelie’s discovery.
