Background
Dave McAllister was born on November 26, 1995, to Marilyn and Jeff McAllister. The last time anyone saw him, he was living with his parents in Bettenforf, Iowa. He has two brothers.
David loved being outside and doing things like camping, hiking, and more. At the time he went missing, he worked as a roofer.
In 2015, David started going to treatment for his drug abuse. After getting treatment, he went on a cross-country trip through Kansas, Arizona, and Colorado, walking and hitchhiking along the way. He finally got back home in December 2016.
The Disappearance of David
David McAllister was last seen at his home in Bettendorf, Iowa, on May 11, 2017. He texted his mom at 4 a.m. to let her know he wasn’t going to work that day and needed some time alone. He left early that morning and told his dad he’d be back later that night. He took his phone, the Bible, and a black backpack with him when he left the house.
His mother texted him when she got home from work and saw that he wasn’t there. His answer when she asked about his health was that he was out walking, thinking, and spreading the Word.
David didn’t respond to texts or phone calls that afternoon and hasn’t been seen or heard from since. His mother reported him missing about two weeks after her last contact with him.
Investigation of Disappearance
David may have been dropped off at Jungy Park in Davenport, Iowa, on the day he lost his way. He usually talks to his family, but he hasn’t since he went missing.
David’s last call was traced to St. Ambrose tower, which is near Vander Veer or Garfield Park, at noon on the day he went missing.
At the time he went missing, David may have been having personal problems. No one knows if McAllister relapsed before he went missing, but his family says he was trying to get better.
Appearance
A white man was born on November 26, 1995. David has blue eyes and blonde hair. He is 5’9″ tall and weighs 160 pounds.
The last time anyone saw him, he was wearing a black shirt, jeans, and black Converse shoes.
David has several tattoos, including “Stay” on the inside of his right elbow, “True” on the inside of his left elbow, a small anarchy symbol between his thumb and forefinger on his right hand, a smiley face between his thumb and forefinger on his left hand, “Beer” on the left side of his chest, a row of five stars on the right side of his chest, a peace sign on his back, the yin yang symbol.
David limps on his right ankle and has scars from BMX riding.
