In 2023, Jahnay Bryan graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Shortly after, she moved back home to live with her mother in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. In the year leading up to her disappearance, Jahnay gradually cut off all contact with her friends and the rest of her family. The last contact she had with her sister was an email when she wished her well.
In April 2024, police performed a wellness check at Jahnay’s home after her sister grew worried about her well-being. Jahnay and her mother were both still living there at the time.On August 1, 2024, Jahnay Bryan sent an email to her ex-boyfriend, suggesting that she was moving to a new city.
On October 16, 2024, Jahnay sent two email to her ex-boyfriend, saying “I think we should get married and I think we should work in industry,” and “I was just in contact with the commissioner of the Department of Water Management in a city and it’s a brilliant idea.”
Her Outlook email indicated that Jahnay was on Pacific Time at the time, suggesting that she may be in California. Jahnay never showed up after day and has never been heard from again. On November 13, 2024, her sister filed a missing person’s report with authorities after being unable to contact Jahnay.
