Think about missing someone you care about but not knowing what happened to them. It would be awful to spend your whole life looking for answers that never come. It would be weird to go to sleep every night hoping for a “lite-night” call with some answers. Sadly, this is how things are for many families around the world. Imagine not being sure if someone you care about is really de*ad.

Someone could have taken your loved one and they’re still alive somewhere… Not having answers can hurt just as much as someone dying. Here’s the main part of the story: picture yourself or someone you care about as a 20-year-old. You have had a good life and learned new things. You are healthy, full of energy, and looking forward to what you have in store. But all of a sudden it’s over. You were taken hostage? You’ve been killed? You’re somewhere hidden. These questions don’t have answers. It seemed like you and your family had a wonderful future ahead of you. But in the blink of an eye, those hopes and dreams were dashed, leaving those left behind sad.

I’m going to tell you about Lauren Spierer’s strange and mysterious disappearance. Let us now talk about some background information and what took place that night.

It’s hard to believe that Lauren Spierer is already 31 years old. She was born on January 17, 1991. Their names were Charlene and Robert Spierer. Her mother was a stay-at-home mom and her dad was an accountant. She grew up in Scarsdale, New York, and her life was pretty normal. Lauren went to Edgemont High School and graduated in 2009. She then started at Indiana University in the summer.

We don’t know much about her plans for the future, but we do know that she studied textiles business. We think she liked fashion and marketing and had a bright future ahead of her.

Besides going to class, Lauren got involved with the Jewish community at her college. She did a lot for the community. During Spring Break, she planted trees in Israel. She met her boyfriend at a summer camp in Pennsylvania called Camp Towanda. As you can see, that was the perfect American college experience. Things did go in a bad direction, though, which was sad.

On June 3, 2011, Lauren had a good time at Kilroy’s Sports Bar in Bloomington, Indiana. Everyone lost track of Lauren and never saw her again. The national and local news quickly reported that she had been seen missing. Lauren was thought to be de*ad, and her case is still open and unsolved. We need to find out more about Lauren’s time at Kilroy’s Sports Bar.

Lauren was drinking with a group of friends, but not with her boyfriend, Jesse Wolff. All night long, until he went to bed, he texted Lauren. People who saw Lauren say she was so drunk she could hardly stand. There was no doubt that things were getting worse. We know what happened based on what witnesses said and what surveillance footage showed. They tried to retrace the events, but at the end they couldn’t figure out how everything fit together.

Thursday Night/Friday Morning

People who saw Lauren leave her apartment on Thursday night say she was with her friend David Rohn. After that, they went to Jay Rosenbaum’s apartment and met his neighbor, Cory Rossman.

Lauren walks into Kilroy’s Sports Bar. After a few hours, Lauren and Cory leave, but Lauren left her shoes and phone at the bar, which shows how drunk she is. Cory walked with her to her apartment building.

Lauren has been seen at the apartment building. Someone who saw her was very drunk asked her if she was okay. She got out of the complex drunk and went down an alley between College Avenue and Morton Street. But shortly after, cameras caught her leaving the alley and walking toward an empty lot. This is where her keys and purse were found. Soon after, Lauren and Cory went back to his apartment. Cory’s roommate saw that they were drunk and put him to bed, but Lauren told him she had to go back to her place.

Cory called his neighbor Jay, who used to be with Lauren, and asked him to watch over her. Jay was scared when he saw a bruise under Lauren’s eye, but he thought it was from a fall while she was drunk. Because she was drunk, she couldn’t remember how she got the bruise. She tried to call two friends, but neither of them picked up.

After that, Lauren leaves Jay’s apartment at 4:30 a.m., which is the last time any camera footage of her is seen. This was at the corner of 11th Street and College Avenue.

Wednesday night, Lauren’s boyfriend texted her, and an employee at the bar texted him back on Friday morning. After that, he said she was missing, and no one ever saw her again.

The police started looking into the area right away, but they never found any solid proof. A man named Daniel Messel had been arrested for the murder of an Indiana University student, but he was not linked to the murder of Lauren. The FBI was called in at some point, but they also couldn’t find Lauren.

The police don’t know what happened to her, but there are three ideas about what might have happened.

Theory #1: Accidental Overdose

Lauren was a drug user and had gotten in trouble because of drugs multiple times. When police searched her room, they discovered cocaine in her room. The police believe she overdosed and died somewhere around the area, but was covered by something and was never found.

Theory #2: Stranger Abduction

There is still a serious problem with this. After being seen on cameras for the last time, she could have been taken by someone. When that happens, it’s very hard to get away quickly.

The case is still open, the news is still talking about it, and the police are still looking for her. It’s getting less likely that we’ll find answers and the person who did it as the day goes on.
