A toddler just days away from celebrating her second birthday has d*ied after she suffered critical injur*ies in a house fire.
On March 8, a fire tore through a family’s home in Powell County, Kentucky.
Austin Haddix and three of his children were inside the home at the time, including 1-year-old Keegan, also known as KeeKee.
KeeKee was found with no heartbeat but was revived by first responders. She was rushed to the hospital where she stayed for four days before passing away on March 12.
KeeKee would have been turning 2 years old on March 17.
Now, her grandmother Michelle Brown said they’ll bury their baby the day before her birthday.
“She was our St. Paddy’s Day baby. She was our lucky charm,” Brown said.
Sadly, a family dog also died in the fire.
KeeKee’s father and her two siblings who were also inside the home at the time of the fire have all been released from the hospital, according to a GoFundMe page.
Brown said Grayson Funeral Home is covering the costs of KeeKee’s funeral, but the family needs funding to find new housing, since their home was a total loss.
