Twin toddlers in Oklahoma were found de*ad in a hot car after a relative allegedly forgot to drop them off at day care.
According to the Norman Police Department, officers responded to a neighborhood around 3 p.m. for a welfare check.
When officers arrived, they found a car stopped in the street.
Inside the car, police discovered the bodies of Ariel and Avery.
Authorities said the girls were accidentally left inside the car for “an extended period” and were later found by family members.
Family member said that the parents left the two girls in the care of a trusted relative that day.
That relative was supposed to drop the girls off at daycare but said they forgot.
“They were the best girls the world has ever seen. It honestly hurts because the girls were so deeply loved and cared for,” said Marshall Suter, father to the twins said.
A GoFundMe has been started for the family following the tragedy.
The medical examiner is expected to announce the cause of de*ath in the coming weeks.
