The mysterious disappearance of Jennifer Dulos, a mother of five from New Canaan, Connecticut, has captivated the nation for over four years. Despite extensive efforts by local and state authorities, Jennifer’s body has never been located.

Now, as her husband’s ex-girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, prepares to stand trial, the case takes another dramatic turn. The Background

Jennifer Farber Dulos, a member of a wealthy New York family, was known for her involvement in horse riding therapy programs and her career in television production. She was the daugther of Hilliard Farber a successful businessman.

How Hilliard Farber made his money:

a resident of New York, NY, he passed away at his home on January 8, 2017. He was 83 years old and had been married to his wife Gloria Farber for 58 years.

He graduated from Rutgers University and went on to earn his MBA from New York University. After completing his college ROTC program, he served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force for three years, working as a navigator for an air-to-air refueling squadron stationed in Anchorage, AK.

Hilliard began his professional career at the Chase Manhattan Bank and rapidly climbed the ranks to become the youngest Senior Vice President, where he led the bond trading desk. During his tenure at the bank, he was extended an invitation to serve as a Brookings Fellow in Washington, DC in 1964.

In 1975, Hilliard established Hilliard Farber & Co. Inc., a distinguished interdealer brokerage firm, where he served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer until the firm was sold to TradeWeb for undisclosed sum in the millions. In a published SEC report the firm was figured at worth $10 million in 2009.

The Farber were no strangers to society. Gloria Farber’s brother Arthur, was married to fashion designer Liz Claiborne. Together they formed a prominent fashion empire in 1957. Liz Claiborne passed away in 2007, while Arthur Ortenberg passed away in 2014.

Jennifer & Fotis Dulos

Jennifer Farber and Fotis Dulos met while they were both students at Brown University.

It wasn’t until 2003 when Jennifer was at the airport in Aspen when she ran into Fotis Dulos, that they struck up a relationship.

Jennifer Farber and Fotis Dulos got married in a lavish ceremony at the Metropolitan Club in New York in August 2004. The couple’s marriage began in an extravagant setting, where she became Jennifer Dulos.

The Dulos’s moved to Connecticut where Fotis began a real estate development company building mansion. Fotis moved his family around the different mansions he would work on until they sold.

The Dulos’s welcomed twins in 2006, Jennifer went on to have another set of twins in 2008 and a daughter in 2010.

On the surface, everything seemed normal — like any affluent suburban mother, Jennifer filled her children’s schedules with various activities such as art classes, music lessons, horse riding, swimming, and tennis. Meanwhile, Dulos pursued his passion for waterskiing and excelled at it. By the time they were nine years old, the older twins had become accomplished waterskiers on the international stage.

As her marriage to Fotis Dulos started to crumb, they engaged in a bitter divorce and child custody battle. The tension between the couple reached its peak on May 2019.

The Vanishing of Jennifer Dulos

On May 24, 2019, Jennifer Dulos dropped off her children at New Canaan Country School, seemingly like any other day.

However, she never arrived at her mother’s home in New York City as planned. Concerned, Jennifer’s family reported her missing to the New Canaan Police Department.

The investigation quickly revealed bloodstains in the garage of her New Canaan home, indicating a violent struggle had taken place.

The discovery of Jennifer’s abandoned black Chevy Suburban near Waveny Park raised further suspicions.

New Canaan Police Chief Leon Krolikowski believed the car’s placement was a deliberate attempt to mislead investigators and make it appear as if Jennifer had vanished voluntarily. The search for answers intensified as law enforcement worked tirelessly to unravel the truth behind Jennifer Dulos’ disappearance.

The Investigation Unfolds

Connecticut State Police honed in on Jennifer’s estranged husband, Fotis Dulos and his then girlfriend Michelle Troconis, as the primary suspect in her disappearance. They alleged that Fotis had violently attacked Jennifer in their home after she returned from dropping off their children at school.

On January 30th Fotis Dulos died by suicide inside his Connecticut home while he was on bond for the mu*rder of Jennifer Dulos. He left a suicide note professing his innocence.

Michelle Troconis was also arrested and faced trial in relation to the disappearance of Jennifer Dulos.

Arrest and Charges

• Michelle Troconis was arraigned on conspiracy to commit mu*rder charged in Stamford Superior Court on January 8, 2020.

Evidence and Allegations

• Police recovered bags containing clothing, zip ties, and other items with Jennifer Dulos’ DNA.
• One bag had DNA from both estranged spouses as well as Troconis on it.
• Troconis claimed she had no knowledge of the contents of the bags, stating she thought they were from one of the homes Fotis Dulos was selling
