In 2020, a heart-wrenching incident unfolded when four-week-old Armaidre Antwan Marquis Argumon disappeared while under the care of his father. Fast forward two years, and Armaidre’s body remains missing, while his father has been sentenced to 15 years in prison on various charges related to the infant’s disappearance.
The Story
Armaidre disappeared on September 18, 2020, when DeAndre Argumon, Armaidre’s father, left their home in Wells, Texas, at around 8:30 a.m., with the infant. Armadire only wore a diaper at the time he disappeared. A relative returned to the family’s home on Old Forest Road in Wells, Texas, finding the pair gone.
DeAndre Uncooperative With Investigation
When DeAndre was found later in the day, he was intoxicated and without Armaidre. He allegedly told police someone had taken the baby before changing his story to say Armaidre’s mother had taken him. The mother had a solid alibi for her whereabouts at the time of the disappearance. She is not considered a suspect or person of interest in the case.
Despite an extensive investigation involving The Texas Rangers and local law enforcement, Armaidre’s whereabouts remained unknown, and no significant leads were obtained. Argumon refused to cooperate with authorities, resulting in his arr*est on charges of abandoning a child, in addition to an initial charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Argumon Sentenced
Argumon received a sentence of 15 years in prison for the child abandonment charge, along with an additional eight years for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle charge. The sentence, handed down by the Honorable Judge R. Chris Day, will be served consecutively.
