41-year-old Lawrence Hammett was last seen in Durango, Colorado on June 24, 2023. He disappeared after walking out of a hospital before receiving treatment, still wearing part of a hospital gown.

Lawrence David Hammett is originally from Montrose, Colorado. He is an accomplished tattoo artist. He had previously worked in Durango and has ties in the area.
Disappearance
On June 2, 2023, Lawrence Hammett spoke with his sister on the phone. She says he seemed normal at the time.
On June 24, 2023, Lawrence was last seen at Mercy Regional Medical Center on Three Springs Boulevard in Durango, Colorado.
That afternoon, Lawrence was transported from Montrose Regional Health in Montrose, Colorado, to a detoxification facility in Durango. He was then transferred to the emergency department at Mercy Regional Medical Center.
For approximately two hours, Lawrence was left unattended in the hospital waiting area. When a staff member eventually called him back to be seen for treatment, Lawrence was nowhere to be seen.
Lawrence hasn’t been seen or heard from since. In November 2023, his family filed a missing person’s report with the Montrose Police Department when they couldn’t contact him.
Investigation
Lawrence disappeared without a cellphone and did not have access to a vehicle.
His family was initially unaware that Lawrence had been transferred to another hospital in Durango, about two and a half hours away from Montrose.
Lawrence was unhoused and struggling with substance abuse at the time of his disappearance. He had disappeared for weeks at a time before, but never for this long without contacting family and friends.
Whereabouts
Foul play is not suspected in Lawrence Hammett’s disappearance. A $2,500 reward is being offered by his family for information leading to his discovery.
The circumstances of Lawrence’s disappearance remain unclear and his case is currently classified as missing. His case remains unsolved.

White male with brown hair and blue eyes. Lawrence is 5’9 tall and weighs 150 pounds.
Distinctive Physical Features:
Lawrence had long shoulder-length brown hair and a full beard at the time. He has multiple visible tattoos on both arms. He walked with a sort of a limp due to past injuries.
Clothing and accessories:
Lawrence was last seen wearing blue hospital scrubs.
