Background
Marissa Carmichael is a resident of High Point, North Carolina, approximately twenty-five minutes south of Greensboro. She is the mother of five children, ranging in ages from 3 to 9.
Disappearance
On January 13, 2024, Marissa Carmichael spent the day with her family. She told her sister that she was going to a nightclub later that night and asked her not to tell their mother because she didn’t want her to worry.
According to her friends, Marissa initially spent the night at One17 SofaBar & Lounge, a local nightclub at 117 North Greene Street before she later went to an Airbnb on Gorrell Street for an after party in Greensboro, North Carolina.
On January 14, 2024, Marissa made a phone call to Guilford Metro 911 from the Exxon gas station at 809 East Market Street in Greensboro, around 3:40 am. She sounded distressed and asked for help finding a ride home.
Marissa told the dispatcher “I don’t know where I am in Greensboro, I just got all my stuff thrown out of the car. He took off with my phone, and I have no clue where I’m at. I have no numbers.”
At 4:21 am, police arrived at the gas station, but Marissa Carmichael was nowhere to be seen. Marissa hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
Her family filed a missing person report with the Greensboro Police Department that afternoon when Marissa failed to showed up for work.
Investigation
Authorities obtained surveillance footage that shows Marissa Carmichael getting into the vehicle of a man and leaving the gas station around 3:46 am, just a few minutes after making the 911 call.
Authorities identified the individual who drove away with Marissa and he is currently considered a witness in the case.
When police investigated the One17 SofaBar where Marissa was last seen with friends they learned a friend of hers “called her mother at 5 am saying there was an emergency, and then the line disconnected,” the 911 record states. When the mother tried calling back a male kept answering “saying she went to the store.”
Whereabouts
The circumstances of Marissa Carmichael’s disappearance remain unclear and her case is currently classified as missing. Her case remains unsolved.

Biracial female with black hair (with blond braids) and brown eyes. Marissa is 5’4 tall and weighs 260 pounds.

Marissa has a heart tattoo on her face and a butterfly near her eye.

Marissa was last seen wearing a white Tweety Bird t-shirt, blue jeans and yellow sneakers. She was wearing silver hoop earrings, cream colored sunglasses, and a yellow club wristband on her right wrist.
