A 12-year-old boy and his grandfather were found d*ead in a tent during a family camping trip in the U.K., according to local reports.
BBC and The Telegraph U.K. identified the child as Kaicy Brown and his grandfather as David Brown.
The two were on a camping trip with their family in Powys, Wales. Another family member discovered them unresponsive in their tent on Sept. 14.
Their causes of de*ath “need more investigation,” the coroner told BBC, but officials are testing for carbon monoxide as one possible cause.
A GoFundMe page for the family also points to carbon monoxide poisoning as being a likely cause of d*eath.
A second GoFundMe page says the two “passed away from carbon monoxide poisoning on a camping trip.”
“Kaicy was a kind, thoughtful and emotionally-aware boy who lit up a room with his smile and good sense of humour. He was also an exceptionally talented artist and impressed us with his attention to detail and incredible commitment to his artwork,” the GoFundMe page reads.
The GoFundMe pages aim to raise money to pay for funeral expenses.
