20 year old Layla Santanello was last seen in Kingsport, Tennessee on June 27, 2023. She was last seen in an ice cream shop located at 2003 North Eastman Road, and hasn’t been heard from since.
According to witnesses, Layla Santanello spent the night of June 25, 2023 at the Americourt motel located at 1900 American Way in Kingsport, Tennessee.
On June 26, 2023, Layla was seen going door to door of the motel wearing a white tank top, black leggings, and no shoes.
Around 12:00 pm on June 27, 2023, Layla went to the Marble Slab Creamery ice cream shop located at 2003 North Eastman Road. She told an employee she was going to the nearby Five Below store to buy shoes, but never made it there. This is the last confirmed sighting of Layla.
Layla Santanello hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
A family member reported her missing to the Kingsport Police Department on June 27, 2023 when they couldn’t contact her.
Investigators were able to track Layla’s steps from the Americourt motel to the Greenbelt, and then to the ice cream shop on the 27th, but no further clues as to her whereabouts have been found.
Multiple agencies searched the Greenbelt trail and surrounding areas for Layla with the help of drones and K9 units, but no further clues were found.
Layla’s mother Jennifer has hired a private investigator to help look for her daughter. An anonymous tip line was set up at (423) 212-5804, with all information going to the investigator.
The location of Layla Santanello, as well as the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, remains unknown. Her case is classified as endangered missing and remains unsolved.

She has multiple tattoos including Roman numerals on her collarbone and her daughter’s name “Nova Grace” on her left forearm.
